Privacy notice
Our tools run in your browser. The ZIP codes and measurements you enter are not sent to us or stored on any server, and you never need an account. This notice covers what this tool site does; the full Home Garden Lot Privacy Policy covers both sites in detail, including advertising and your legal rights.
What happens when you use a tool
- When you enter a ZIP code, your browser downloads a small public data file for the first three digits (for example
100.json) and finds your ZIP inside it on your device. - Your last ZIP code is saved in your browser's local storage so the tool is ready next time. Clear it anytime in your browser settings.
- Pages can work offline thanks to a service worker that caches pages and data files on your device.
Information collected automatically
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which logs visitor IP addresses for security and to operate the service. We don't receive or use these logs.
Analytics and cookies
This site does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If we add Google Analytics or ads, this notice will be updated first.
Advertising
If we show Google ads here in future, Google and its partners will use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You'll be able to opt out of personalized ads at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info, and details will be added to this notice and the full policy before ads appear.
Embedded widget
Sites that embed our frost-date widget load it from this domain; the same rules apply inside the widget. No tracking is added to the host site.
Your rights and contact
You can ask us to access or delete information you've sent us, and you have rights under GDPR and U.S. state privacy laws described in the full policy. To make a request, use our contact page.
