Terms of use
The tools are free to use. Frost dates are 30-year averages, not forecasts, and calculator results are estimates, so check them before you plant or buy. The frost-date data is free to reuse with credit. These terms add to the main Home Garden Lot Terms of Use, which also apply here.
Using the tools
You may use the tools for personal and professional planning at no cost. Please don't overload the site with automated requests; download the dataset instead.
Frost dates and estimates
Frost dates come from NOAA's 1991–2020 U.S. Climate Normals for the nearest weather stations. A frost after the median last frost date happens in about half of all years, and conditions at your garden can differ from the station because of elevation, slope and nearby water. Use the 10%-risk date for tender plants and watch your local forecast. We're not liable for crop, plant or material losses from relying on these averages.
